Awana

AWANA is our Wednesday night children’s ministry program for kids ages 4 to 6th grade. AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.  The primary focus of AWANA is scripture memorization. The following passages capture the heart of this program.

Deuteronomy 6:6-9
“These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts.  Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.   Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Psalm 119:11
“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

Our mission at WHBC is to encourage children to absorb the word of God and apply it to their lives.  The ultimate goal is for each child to come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

AWANA follows the school schedule, beginning in September and ending in May.  It is held every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.  In general, the AWANA schedule consists of a game time, handbook time and counsel time.

Kids, come join us as we learn, have fun, and lift up Jesus!
