Summer Reading List
Part One – June
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness,
that the man of God may be complete,
thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God”
Did you know the Greek word theopneustos is literally translated as “God-breathed”? Although human writers physically put the words onto paper, the ultimate source of the words were God-breathed into their pens. There are many examples within the Scripture, such as Deuteronomy 29:29, Romans 4:23-24, and 2 Peter 1:20-21, to name only a few.

“Thoroughly equipped for every good work”
This section has two parts. First, as Christians we are now “equipped,” means we are prepared and ready to do the work. Second, consider “the work”; what does this mean? Every good work are the things that are pleasing to God, things which bring Him honor and glory. (Matthew 5:16, Colossians 3:23-24, Hebrews 13:21)
