Your Lord Precedes You

YOUR LORD PRECEDES YOU

But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.
Mark 14:28

Your Lord precedes you. Think about that. Your Lord precedes you, meaning God never sends you into a situation alone.

God always goes before His children. He always precedes you in any situation you encounter. Your circumstances never catch God by surprise because He has already been there! He is prepared to meet your every need because He already knows exactly what you will need. (Deuteronomy 31:8). Look at how He led the children of Israel with a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night! (Exodus 13:21-22)

Not only does God go before you, but He also stands beside you and behind you, to provide protection and comfort (Psalms 139:7-12). Jesus knew His disciples would be completely shocked and distraught by His crucifixion, so He assured them in advance: no matter what happened, no matter where they went, they could go in confidence because He had already gone before them. Another example is found with Paul, as he also experienced this assurance (Acts 18:9; 23:11). In the most bewildering circumstances, his Lord was there!

In closing, as you pray today, thank God for those three B’s: thank Him for always going Before you, and thank Him for standing Beside you and Behind you. If everything feels good and right in your life, praise Him for His abundant gifts! If you are going through a difficult time, call on the Lord and know that He is present with you. He is fully aware of what you are facing and He is actively responding to your needs. Amen!
