Your Wisdom
YOUR WISDOM
Therefore be careful to observe them;
for this is your wisdom and your understanding
in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say,
“Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”
Deuteronomy 4:6

It is often easy to fall victim to human reasoning. Unbelievers often rely on their own knowledge and understanding when making important decisions. In addition, human reasoning may even lead you to reject the ways of God (1 Corinthians 1:18-25). However, wisdom is not what you know about the world, but rather how well you know God. As a Christian, your wisdom grows stronger as your relationship with God grows stronger.

As Christians, we have access to God’s wisdom. What does that mean?

Only God sees the future, so only He can lead you to make correct decisions today. Thankfully, God gives you the opportunity to base your life on His wisdom. As a result, He will guide you safely to the correct choices for you.

  • God’s Spirit is within you to guide you (John 16:13).
  • The Holy Spirit opens your eyes to the truth of the Scriptures so that you can see things from God’s perspective.
  • Your family will be blessed because you make wise decisions.
  • Your friends will have a wise counselor to come to for help.
  • Your obedient life will demonstrate the wisdom of allowing the Holy Spirit to be The Guide.

As you pray today, take a moment to ask yourself – are you letting God direct your life? Or are you relying on the world to help you make decisions? Ask God to open your heart to the wisdom found in His Holy Word, and ask for His guidance as you make decisions. And of course, thank God for the many blessings He has given to you! Amen!
